St.Patrick's Day: Things To Do In Toronto

St. Patrick’s Day has seriously become one of my absolute favourite celebrations.  Who wouldn't love a day focused on drinking green beer?  This year there are SO many fun events happening around the city in honour of this special day and trust me, you will not want to miss out!  Time to dust off your “Kiss Me I’m Irish” t-shirt, grab a few friends and hit up one of these hot spots to join in on the festivities!

The 3rd Annual Guiness SPD Toronto

Taking place at the Polson Pier Event Complex, this is by far one of Toronto’s biggest celebrations and a guaranteed good time. Complete with plenty of live music, free pancakes (yes, free), Irish dancing and of course, lots and lots of beer, you will have a blast. The tickets also happen to be pretty inexpensive…bonus! So if you’re in the mood to party, you found your spot!

St. Patrick’s Day Parade:
On Sunday, March 13th, the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will begin at 12 o’clock! So if you happen to be strolling down Bloor or Yonge Street wondering why people are dressed up as Leprechauns, then luck you (ha!) you’ve made it just in time for the parade to pass by. While this is certainly more of a family affair, there is still tons of entertainment to be seen. For those of you who have little ones running around, they will absolutely love this! Face paint anyone?! Tip: Arrive early! It’s expected to be super busy this year and be sure to bring a non-perishable food item!!

The Ceili Cottage Week Long Shenanigans:
Located in Leslieville, Ceili Cottage has quickly become the go-to pub amongst locals. It’s lively atmosphere is bringing not only one celebration in honour of St. Patrick’s Day but a week long party to keep the good times rolling! Starting this Friday, March 11th, each day promises to bring endless fun and frivolity whether it be an Irish inspired Lunch at 11 am or a Celtic band taking you into the night, this is definitely a place worth checking out. There will be a family day held on Sunday the 13th for post St. Patrick’s Day Parade fun and face painting, dancing and a roast! Taking us all the way to St. Patrick’s Day on Thursday the 17th, there will be tons of great music, food and drinks to be had. See you there!

Steam Whistle Brewery does St. Patrick’s Day:
A party in an actual brewery? Now we’re talkin! Steam Whistle Brewery will be holding a major celebration on behalf of St. Patrick on Saturday, March 12th and doors open at 2 p.m. sharp. Year after year, Steam Whistle has proved that they know how to throw down and this year is going to be no exception! Serving up their fresh beer all day long, there will be tons of live music, dancing and good times to be had. Due to the popularity of this “shindig”, advance tickets are unfortunately sold out, however there will still be plenty of tickets available at the door for $20! Be there or be square ;)

Stay Local:
For those of you who are looking to stay a little closer to home, I would highly recommend heading over to your local Irish pub for some great comfort food and drinks! Conveniently located down the way from our Liberty Village location, Brazen Head Irish Pub is one of our go-to spots. Their nachos and sweet potato fries are delish! !
