Beauty: Favourite Spring Products

It's always hard to find products that work for you on a regular basis. The selection can be overwhelming today, as there are so many different brands and stores. This week on the blog we thought we would share some of our must-have items that each of us use on a daily basis, helping to narrow down some great products based on what you are looking for. We hope you enjoy and take some of our suggestions. Trust us, you won't be disappointed!

Smashbox Mascara

This is by far one of the best mascaras I have ever used! It stays on all day long without smudging under your eyes by the end of the day and does't clump. It actually lengthens too (for real!). This mascara isn't named "full exposure" for nothing! I would highly recommend!

Mac concealer

Another product that I use every single day without fail is the Mac concealer. I love how smooth it goes on and doesn't roll off by the end of the day like some. One of the other things that I find great about this product is the shades that it comes in. It looks so natural, as it matches perfectly to so many skin tones. Love!

Living Proof Dry Shampoo

This is one of the beauty products that I could not live without! Sometimes its hard to style your hair everyday. Between taking the kids to school, work and all of their activities, it truly is a life saver! I use it in between the days that I don't have time to style my hair or if I haven't washed it for a few days. Its not great for your hair to wash it everyday, so those days that it isn't looking its freshest this is my go-to trick (I'm giving away one of my best kept secrets!). I have tried a few different brands and I find this one works the best, it doesn't leave you with that chalky consistency. You have to try it if you haven't already!

Pureology Shampoo

I totally agree with spending a few more dollars on shampoo. I think that using a good quality shampoo can enhance and sustain coloured hair, I currently have a ombre colouring. One of my favourite brands of shampoo, is Pureology. It was first used on my hair at a salon I went to and I loved it! I buy the largest bottle now and share it with my daughter. Their products are 100% Vegan, Sulfate-free, Paraben-free and recyclable, bonus! I love the hydrating bottle (purple). It hydrates without stripping any colour from dyed hair. If you're finding the drugstore shampoos are stripping your colour-treated hair I would highly suggest this brand. I love it!

Benefit highlighter

One of newest products that I just purchased and I absolutely love is the Benefit High Beam highlighter. I use it on the my cheekbones, brow bone and bridge of my nose. I use a tiny amount before I apply bronzer and I find it gives you a nice glow without looking too dewy. With a tan in the summer, this highlighter will give you the perfect sun-kissed look!

Drunk Elephant Night Serum

This is my absolute FAVOURITE beauty product. Jill, our store manager recommended this product to me a few months ago and I am addicted! I apply it every night and only a dime size. I started using it about two months ago and have noticed a huge difference. I find it helps minimize your pores and makes your skin a lot softer.  I bought the smaller container of 30mL and it should last you around 4 months, which I find pretty reasonable. This product is part of my nightly routine now, I am absolutely obsessed!

Clinique Eye Cream

I just started to work eye cream into my nightly routine because I started to notice some puffiness under my eyes. I also want to try and prevent future wrinkles! I bought the Clinique All About Eyes cream and I'm really liking it so far! Its a little thick so I would recommend only using it at night because it might make your concealer a little oily.

Vaseline Intensive Care Moisturizer

This is one of my favourite products that you can get at any pharmacy and even grocery store. Its super cheap and does the trick! I love the Vaseline body moisturizer as an everyday cream. It perfect for when your skin is super dry in the winter  or to put on after a shower. It's a great cheap staple that I use throughout every season!

Mac Lipstick

This the product that I have been using the longest. I don't wear lipstick everyday but when I want to dress up my makeup routine a little bit or if I am going out at night I always use Mac lipstick in the Snob shade. I find it is neutral enough that it always seems to go with all my outfits but adds a pop of colour! I think it looks great on any skin tone and hair colour. It's the perfect Spring shade if you're looking for a new lipstick to transition you from Spring to Summer.

Glossier Super Bounce Serum

This is one of my most used products that I have. I use this both morning and night. It's great for plumping the skin back up with moisture and Vitamin B5, leaving your face super soft. It doesn't make your skin sticky either. I use it daily, however I find I gravitate towards it more in high heats, travelling (your skin gets so dry on flights!) and for those mornings you had one too many drinks the night before. I always apply on a clean face, before makeup or before bed. Trust me, once you try this serum you will be instantly addicted!

Bare Minerals Tinted Moisturizer

I am not a huge foundation person. I don't love the look of a ton of makeup on a daily basis and like looking natural and still being able to see freckles through my makeup. I love using a tinted moisturizer because it evens out your skin and covers small blemishes, all well hydrating! Its part of my everyday makeup routine. Its so easy and light to use it just feels like you're putting on moisturizer before your makeup, leaving you with a smooth and dewy look.

Origins Night Repair Cream

This is a cream I can't live without! It's seriously the best for moisturizing without being too rich and thick as a lot of nighttime creams are. At night, your skin loses moisture, the Origins nighttime repair works to lock-in surface moisture. When you wake up your skin feels super hydrated and not oily. Its amazing! I would definitely recommend if you're fighting winter dryness or battle with dry skin all year long.
